I found some amaaaazing mushroom pink heavy silk dupioni and some guipire lace. I think a lacy antique confection of corset and bloomers shall be next on the corset list.

Great costume find - two vintage wire-rim glasses! Perfect for Victorian stuff.

Whenever I vaccuum the floor it always gets messy again fast. I did the whole house today, and not more than 6 hours later there are scraps of gold lame all over my room. And glitter. And thread. At least the costume is coming along nicely.

Floods in one end of the country, the worst firestorms in living memory at the other end.

Still costuming. Am much better at it now. Have conquered invisible zips and fancy machine feet!

...Have sewed so much have *worn out* engine on my machine. Woe. Am down to roommate's machine, for it has zig zag.

Have treadle singer set up and working. Is too noisy for sewing at 2am, converting back to motor. Oops.

Have singer featherweight with carrycase and bobbins and power cord and hoop and many many feet! So. Cute. ...have not used, must be serviced. Woe.

Am starting honours. O_o.

So...this Sky Island company has just released *drum roll* Moisture Evaporators! Well, moisture condensers, sucking water from the atmosphere, but still..

Well, I guess we're like Tatooine. Blazing sun, not enough water, weird oddly adapted wildlife that's largely lethal to human life...
